Hendrix Falls Twice to No. 12 Rhodes Saturday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - After winning a share of the Southern Athletic Association regular season title last year, Hendrix traveled to Memphis, Tenn. to take on No. 12 Rhodes in a doubleheader in the SAA opener Saturday. After recording just three hits in the first game of the day, the Warriors dropped the first game, 9-1. In the final game of the day, Hendrix carved five hits in the ninth inning to take a 3-1 lead late but a three-run home run in the bottom half of the ninth with zero  outs allowed Rhodes to record the 4-3 walk-off win in extra innings as Rhodes swept Hendrix on the day. With the two losses, Hendrix falls to 5-11 on the year and 0-2 in SAA games while the Lynx improve to 12-3 and 4-1 in SAA action.

How The Warriors Scored: 
4th - JP Medick walked, RBI; Justin Scott advanced to second; Adam Bland advanced to third; Ford Sherrington scored, unearned. 

Notables: 
- Medick picked up his team-leading 11th RBI of the year after drawing a bases loaded walk in the fourth inning.
- In his third appearance of the year, Hayden Seay struck out four of the five batters that he faced; allowed just one hit in over an inning of work. Seay also tossed only 23 pitches.
- Juan Pablo Leon, Seth Tucker and Ford Sherrington picked up the three lone hits in the game while Tom Flisk was left on base all four times against Rhodes.
- Scott also drew three walks in the game and stole two bases.

4th - Rail Gilliam flied into double play lf to ss, sacrifice fly, RBI; F. Sherrington out on the play; Seth Tucker scored.
9th - R. Gilliam singled to center field, advanced to second on the throw, RBI; Tom Flisk scored.
9th - Sean Dehne singled through the left side, RBI; R. Gilliam scored.

Notables: 
- One game after drawing three walks, Scott went 3-for-5 while Tucker, Sherrington and Gilliam carded two-hit performances.
- Kyle Wellman saw his third start of the year; pitching four stellar innings of baseball while allowing just five hits, zero earned runs and struck out a pair of Lynx after tossing 54 pitches.
- Gilliam and Dehne both carded the lone RBI hits in the game; both coming in the ninth inning.
- After taking the 3-1 lead, Rhodes tallied back-to-back-to-back hits to defeat the Warriors in nine innings.
