CONWAY, Ark. - The Warriors shut out the Millsaps Majors with a late goal from Camy McKenzie, advancing to 2-0 in Southern Athletic Association play and 8-2 on the year so far, the best start in program history.

The Warriors traveled to Jackson, Mississippi for the second time this week following their win over the Belhaven Blazers to try and extend their three-game win streak. Hendrix started out with a strong offensive start, with Emily Seymour taking an early shot. The Warriors then took five shots over the course of the half before the Majors got their first shot in the 32nd minute, which was saved by Elisabeth Caton Nelson. With five minutes left in the half, the Orange and Black earned a corner taken by Samantha Barrett that resulted in a shot from outside back Brianna Willis that unfortunately missed above the goal. Going into the half, Hendrix had seven shots to Millsaps one shot.

Coming out after half, the Warriors picked up their attack around the 60th minute when outside back Ella Kelly got her first shot on goal. Her shot was quickly followed by two from Madison Lampkin and one from Sydney Wagner within a two-minute span. Willis got another shot and after a quick counterattack, the Majors got their second shot of the game and kept the ball in the Hendrix defensive third for 10 minutes to get two more shots off. With 15 minutes left in the game, Coach Trimble made quite a few offensive substitutions to put fresh legs in to try and get Hendrix on the board. This effort quickly paid off with the Orange and Black winning two quick corner kicks and allowing Ally Ross a shot. In the 81st minute, Camy McKenzie was able to put the Warriors on the scoreboard with an assist from Emily Seymour. The game ended with each team only having one more shot on goal.

Camy McKenzie scored her third game-winning goal of the season and is now tied for first in conference and 13th in the country for game-winning goals, tenth in conference for total goals, and eighth in conference for shots on goal. Emily Seymour also earned her third assist and is second in conference for total assists. Elisabeth Caton Nelson also picked up her fifth shutout of the year, making her the number one goalkeeper in conference and 15th in the country for total shutouts. She also holds second in conference and 38th nationally for her goals against average of 0.50 and is first in conference and 18th nationally for her save percentage of 91.3%.

Following the game, Coach Jeff Trimble said "Today was a tough game. Millsaps is well coached and their players played very hard this afternoon. We had some great chances and it took a while to get a goal. Coach Logan Dye suggested we try moving Camy up to a forward spot in the second half and it worked out great. Once again the girls played good defense and are continuing to get more creative when attacking. We look forward to getting back to practice and improving".

The Warriors will be back in action Tuesday October 4th as they host Ecclesia at Warrior Soccer Field at 6 pm CST. Live coverage can be found on the Warriors Sports Network.
