CONWAY, Ark. - Last night the Warriors won their season opener against the Austin College 'Roos after a late game goal.
The Warriors offensively dominated the match, totaling 18 shots with 11 on frame. The back line, led by senior captains Brianna Willis and Julia Dick, only allowed the 'Roos 3 shots, of which only two were on frame. In the 86th minute of the game, Mackenzie Sinclair scored her second goal as a Warrior and helped the Warriors close out the game. Elisabeth Caton Nelson also picked up her third career win and only had to make two saves.
"I thought we played well tonight, especially for our first game. A lot of credit goes to Austin College, they were very organized and made it very hard on us. I was proud that the girls kept pressing and working to get the goal. Overall we created some really good chances and it was great to finally get the goal near the end." - Coach Jeff Trimble
The Warriors will be back in action on Sunday at 11 am CST at Warrior Soccer Field, where they will they host Schreiner and hope to pick up their fourth win.
