Atlanta, Ga. - The Hendrix Warriors faced off with the Oglethorpe for the second time in seven days, this time falling 69-61 on the Black Top.
Hendrix fought back after a 24-9 first quarter to enter the halftime interval only trailing by seven points, outscoring the Stormy Petrals 18-10 in the second quarter.
The Warriors were 0-11 from deep in the first half, but knocked down 5 of their first 10 attempts in the second half to keep Oglethorpe within touching distance.
Madi Pierce and
Megan Gray led the Warriors with 14 points, with
Bella Cates adding 13 points. Gray's 14 points are a career-high for the freshman from Greenwood.
Hendrix will return home to face the Sewanee Tigers on Feb. 3 at 6:00 PM. Friday's game will commemorate National Girls and Women in Sports Day, which is celebrated annually on February 1.
