Sewanee, Tenn. - The Hendrix Warriors fell to Sewanee 87-73 on Friday night at Juhan Gymnasium.
Hendrix shot 42% from the field but ran into a electric Tiger offense that went 54.4% from the field and 36% from three-point land.
The Warriors trailed 46-32 at the half and would trail by as many as 21 in the second half. A shooting spree led by
Colton McMullin and
Caleb Squires pulled the Orange and Black back within 10 points, but Sewanee was able to pull away at the end with some timely outside shooting for a comfortable 14-point win.
Tyler Deithloff led all scorers with a season-high 26 points and grabbed 11 boards.
Squires finished with 15 points, and
Colton McMullin contributed 10 points.
The Warriors drop to 0-2 in the Southern Athletic Association and will seek to get their conference win on Sunday as they take on the Centre Colonels. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM CT from Alumni Gymnasium.
