Conway, Ark. - After a midweek win over the Rhodes Lynx on Tuesday night in Memphis, the Hendrix Warriors looked to carry their newfound momentum into this Saturday's contest with Birmingham-Southern (BSC).
And they did so, in a big way.
Without two of their top offensive performers in
Camryn Presley and
Camryn Kennedy, the Warriors put together a total offensive effort en route to a decisive 3-0 victory over BSC.
Loren Payne led the way with 9 kills, with
Ana Bastos contributing 7 of her own.
Catalina Williams,
Carys Shock, and
Perri Evans each recorded 6 kills.
Kyler Greenlee and
Adilynn Henry combined for 34 assists with 18 and 16, respectively.
The Warriors were able to take advantage of several costly mistakes by the Panthers, including 8 service errors. Hendrix tallied 10 points off of service aces, with
Sam Friedl accounting for half of those.
The win lifts Hendrix to 8-10 (4-5 SAA), and they now sit fourth in the SAA standings. They will be back in action for a Sunday matinee with Millsaps. The match is slated to start at 12:00 PM at Grove Gymnasium.
