Richardson, TX- The Warriors opened the 2023 Spring Season at Richardson, TX this past weekend, competing in the UT Dallas Invitational: Texas Cup. It was the first tournament for newly appointed head man, Matt Kern, taking over the reigns for former coach Andrew Thames, who accepted a new position outside athletics.
The Warriors finished 11th in the field with a team score of 629, one point shy of 10th. Freshman
Oliver Naumann finished the tournament tied for 10th with a total score of 151. Naumann opened round 1 shooting a 74 (+2) and finished shooting a 77 (+5).
William Baker &
Deqlyn Buttrey also finished in the top 35 with Baker ending the day tied for 25th & Buttrey tied for 34th.
Lail Shaw finished tied for 77th &
Matthew Stephens finished tied for 80th.

William Baker: RD. 1: 76 (+4) & RD. 2: 78 (+6)

Matthew Stephens: RD. 1: 90 (+18) & RD. 2: 83 (+11)
Gianna Miceli competed individually and finished 49th in the field, ending the day shooting 103 (+31).
Next for the Warriors:
The Warriors split off as the women travel to Tunica, MS on March 26th to compete in the Rhodes Spring Classic. The men hit the road to Millington, TN on April 2nd, as they compete in the Rhodes Spring Classic.
