Conway, Ark. - Hendrix returned to Conway after a narrow loss to Birmingham-Southern in their Southern Athletic Association (SAA) opener to host a struggling Millsaps side on Friday evening at Warrior Soccer Field.
The Warriors produced most of the chances in the first half in what turned out to be quite a physical affair.
Hendrix finally found the breakthrough in the 36', as
Jake Nelson powered through the match opener after a mad goaline scramble.
Minutes later, the match took a turn for the worse, as both sides saw red for violent conduct that reduced the two to 10 men.
The Warriors continued to keep Millsaps at bay, and
James Leone made a terrific diving stop to his left to preserve the lead late in the second half.
Then, in the 85',
Danny Kern steered in Hendrix's second from point-blank range off a
Will Kelton cross to seal the tie and win all three points for the Warriors.
The win improves Hendrix to 3-4-1 (1-1 SAA) on the year, and they will now hit the road to take on Centre and Sewanee later this week.
