Conway, Ark. - The Hendrix Warriors lost 71-62 to Millsaps on a snowy Sunday afternoon at Grove Gymnasium.
Hendrix led by nine with just over seven minutes left to play in regulation after a
Jonathan Ryan layup, and looked to be in control of the game heading into the penultimate media timeout.
But a subsequent flurry from the Majors over the next five minutes kick-started a 17-2 Millsaps' run that proved to be too much for the Warriors to overcome down the stretch.
Hendrix got 27 points from its bench, including a career-high 16 from
Drew Mayo, who shot 6-of-9 from the field and 3-of-4 behind the arc.
Jonathan Ryan also finished in double figures with 12 points.
As a team, Hendrix shot 39% from the field and 29.6% from deep.
The loss drops the Warriors to 3-13 (0-5 SAA), and they will now head east to take on Centre and Sewanee for a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) road doubleheader. Tip-off versus Centre is set for 8:00 PM from Alumni Gymnasium on Friday, Jan. 19.
