Conway, Ark.- With freezing temps & snowfall coming down in Conway, the Warriors concluded their weekend homestead with a matchup against the Millsaps Majors, dropping the contest by a final score of 65-59.
It was a tightly contested ballgame all the way to the final whistle, but a career high surge from Majors' Whitney Novak put a dagger in the hopes of the Warriors hoping to break this 11 game slump.
The Warriors entered the 4th trailing by 7, but fought and clawed back to make it a one possession game with just a little over 4 minutes in the contest, thanks to free throws by Riley Brady. The Warriors came close to taking the lead late in the 4th thanks to a basket by Simone Shields, but that was the closest the Warriors would come as the Majors scored 6 unanswered to push the game out of reach.
Ava Knoedl led the scoring for the Warriors in their third straight contest with 15 points adding 4 rebounds and 3 assists as well. Shelby Heil put up 13 points in today's matchup, 1 point off from a season high and added 10 boards as well, registering her 3 double-double of the season. Riley Brady was a point shy of achieving another double-double, finishing with 9 points and a game high 11 rebounds.
The loss drops the Warriors to 2-14 (0-5 SAA) on the season as the Warriors look to break this losing streak with a trip out east to take on Centre College this Friday at 5:00 PM CT.
