Warriors Can't Convert After Halftime Lead Versus Centre

Danville, Ky. - The Hendrix Warriors lost their sixth consecutive game in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) after a 58-47 defeat to the Centre Colonels on Friday night.

After falling behind 16-8 in the second quarter, the Warriors mounted a 10-0 run to take the lead. With the game tied at 20-20, Brailey Forst nailed putback jumper at the buzzer to give Hendrix the lead heading into halftime.

But the Colonels exploded offensively coming out of halftime, outscoring the Warriors 26-13 to begin the second half and led by as many as 13 at one point.

Hendrix was able to trim the lead to single digits late but could never quite find their footing and reestablish a foothold in the waning minutes.

Riley Brady led the team with 13 points and 18 rebounds en route to her seventh double-double on the year.

Bella Cates contributed 9 points, while Shelby Heil finished the evening with 7 points and 6 boards.

The Warriors shot 29.1% from the field but were an impressive 91.7% from the stripe.

The loss drops Hendrix to 2-15 (0-5 SAA), and they will now head to Sewanee, Tenn. to take on the Tigers for a Sunday matinee. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM at Juhan Gymnasium.
