Conway, Ark. - The Hendrix Warriors fell 69-56 to Rhodes in their Southern Athletic Association (SAA) opener on Tuesday evening at Grove Gymnasium.
Hendrix dug itself into a hole as the Lynx jumped out to an 11-0 lead early, but fought back to go into the halftime interval down 30-20.
Natalie Edmonson's three-ball halfway through the third quarter cut the Lynx's lead to 6 before the two sides traded blows, with Rhodes leading 48-40 heading into the final quarter of play.
Hendrix was able to keep the lead under ten for most of the fourth until a late Rhodes' offensive spurt was enough to see the Warriors off for good.
Ava Knoedl led the Warriors in scoring with 17, shooting 3-of-5 from behind the arc.
The SAA's reigning Athlete of the Week
Riley Brady recorded her third double-double in four games with 14 points and 15 boards to continue her phenomenal start in her freshman campaign.
Shelby Heil finished the night with 9 points and 2 rebounds.
The loss drops Hendrix to 2-10 (0-1 SAA) and they will now hit the road to Georgia to take on SAA foes Oglethorpe and Berry. Tip-off against Oglethorpe is set for 6:00 PM on Jan. 5 from Dorough Field House.
