Atlanta, Ga. - The Hendrix Warriors got off to the worst start imaginable on Friday night versus Oglethorpe en route to a 82-44 defeat at Dorough Field House.
Hendrix was outscored 22-6 in the first quarter after surrendering the game's first nine points, and did not find any better luck in the second quarter.
The Stormy Petrels nailed a three-pointer at the buzzer to send the home side into the halftime break with a 47-15 lead.
Hendrix managed 15 points in the third quarter, their most in any quarter on the night, while holding Oglethorpe to just 20, and were outscored 15-14 in the final quarter of play.
Riley Brady led the Warriors with 8 points and 6 rebounds.
Simone Shields and
Ava Knoedl finished the evening with 6 points a piece, while
Bella Cates and
Shelby Heil each recorded 5 points.
The loss drops the Warriors to 2-11 (0-2 SAA), and they will now head to Rome, Ga. to take on the Berry Vikings on Sunday. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM at the Cage Center
