Warriors Drop SAA Contest to Colonels

Conway, Ark.- Coming back from a road trip out east, the Warriors look to break their recent slump at Grove Gymnasium, unfortunately shooting woes plagued Hendrix tonight. The two teams traded momentum early in the contest, with Centre leading after the first by a score of 22-15.

The Kerns opened the 2nd quarter with an 8-2 run, pulling away from the Warriors early. Free throws kept the Warriors in the quarter as well as a deep three from Ava Knoedl, but it wasn't enough to cut into the lead, as Centre went to the locker room with a 45-26 lead.

Centre would run away with the matchup coming out of the half, defeating the Warriors by a final score of 79-46. Shooting was the achilles heel for the Warriors, shooting 25% from the field in comparison to 52% for Centre. The Warriors ended the night shooting 78% from the free throw line.

Megan Gray led the Warriors in the scoring column, putting up 11. Ava Knoedl & Bella Cates both ended the night with 8 points. Simone Shields ended the night with 7, and Riley Brady added 6. Maddie Pardeck & Brailey Forst led the Warriors in rebounds.

The loss drops the Warriors to an overall record of 2-17 (0-8 SAA). Hendrix will take on the Sewanee Tigers this Sunday at Grove Gymnasium, tip off is scheduled for 1:00 PM. You can watch the action live on the Warrior Sports Network!
