Sensational Shooting Lifts Warriors Over Dallas

Conway, Ark. - Hendrix lit up Grove Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon with a 91-81 win over the University of Dallas.

The Warriors shot a 52.4% (33-63) from the field and an astounding 52.6% from behind the arc.

Ava Knoedl led all scorers with a season-high 24 points and got Hendrix off and running on Sunday by knocking down her first three three-pointers.

Hendrix took a 25-13 lead into the second quarter and led by as many as 21 in the opening half before Dallas was able to trim the home side's lead heading into halftime. The Crusaders gave Hendrix a scare early in the second half as they cut the deficit to 5 before Natalie Edmonson's long ball put a stop to the bleeding. Hendrix was able to capitalize on the brief shift in momentum and end the third quarter on a 10-3 run.

The Warriors reasserted their dominance in the final frame as they jumped out to a comfortable 25-point lead with 6:04 left to play. Dallas ended the contest with a late flurry, but it was too little, too late as Hendrix was able to see out the win and improve to 2-2 on the young season.

For the fourth game running, Brailey Forst recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds and career-high 22 points. She was also a massive defensive presence in the paint with 3 blocks and 2 steals.

Shelby Heil was just off of her own double-double with a 9-9 performance. Edmonson also finished with 9 points, while Simone Shields and Brooklyn Rowe each finished with 8 points.

The Warriors hit the road for the first time this season as they head to Longview, Texas for a contest with LeTourneau next Thursday. They will return to Grove Gymnasium next Sunday to host in-state foe Ozarks.
