Box Score Atlanta, Ga. - Hendrix dropped its conference opener in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) to Oglethorpe on Friday evening in Atlanta.
Peyton Refling got the scoring started midway through the first quarter before the Stormy Petrels tacked on three unanswered goals to take a 3-1 lead.
Refling would add another at the buzzer to trim the lead to one heading into the second quarter.
Lillian Sonner netted her first two goals of the game in the second quarter to cut into Oglethorpe's lead. The Warriors would trail 7-4 at half.

Eliza Thacker each netted two second-half goals, but it would not be enough as Oglethorpe scored eight in the second half to secure a 15-8 win.
Hendrix was 3-3 on free-position shots as a team. The Warriors caused 12 turnovers and scooped up 23 ground balls.
The loss drops the Warriors to 2-3 on the year, and they will take on Oglethorpe again on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference contest.
