Memphis, Tenn. - Hendrix won the opening game of its weekend series with Rhodes to take their winning streak to 13 games and remain undefeated in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA).
Bryson Bales (W, 3-1) was the pitcher of record on Friday afternoon after a stellar outing, tossing 7.0 IP of two-hit, shutout ball en route to the winning decision.
Braxton Waller entered in relief in the 8th and surrendered just one run on one hit while recording a strikeout.
JD Nichols came on in the 9th and saw out the win with a shutout inning.
Hogan Ralston's RBI single in the top of the 1st scored
Adam Bland to put the Warriors on top.
Bland would score again in the 5th after an RBI double from
Drake Job.
The Warriors tacked on two more runs in the 8th courtesy of RBI singles from Bland and
Zach Marriott.
With a 4-1 lead heading into the 9th, Hendrix got insurance runs with RBIs from
Charlie Deaton and
Joseph Watts.
Bland and Job both tallied three hits on the afternoon with an RBI each. Deaton finished 2-4 at the plate with an RBI.
