Conway, Ark. - After dropping the first two games of their series to Berry, Hendrix rallied to take the final game of the weekend 8-2.
The Warriors plated two runs in the 1st inning with RBI singles from
Griffin Baird and
Austin Rabago.
Baird would record another RBI in the 3rd with a groundout to the shortstop to score
Drake Job.
Ian Guthrie followed that up with a double to left field to bring in
Owen Shaw.
Joseph Watts then tripled to right field to score Guthrie and make it a 5-1 game.
Job grounded out to the shortstop in the 4th to score
Adam Bland, and then sent a 2-RBI single out to right field to bring in Watts and
Hogan Ralston for the seventh and eighth runs.
Hendrix got a quality start on the bump from
Aiden Leggett (W, 3-1). The sophomore lefty surrendered just one run on two hits in 5 innings of work.
Jack Hodgins gave up just one run in two innings of relief work.
Braxton Waller entered in the 8th and put the Vikings down in order in consecutive innings for the final six outs.
Job led the Warriors with 3 RBIs and was 1-4 at the plate with a run scored. Watts finished 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Up Next: Hendrix (17-10, 8-4 SAA) will host Ozarks for a midweek contest at Warrior Baseball Field before heading to Birmingham-Southern for a weekend series with the Panthers.
