Baseball Loses Series to Birmingham-Southern

Birmingham, Ala. - Hendrix dropped its third-consecutive series in league play after a 2-1 series loss over the weekend to Birmingham-Southern (BSC) at Striplin Field.

Game 1 (L, 14-4)
Pitcher of Record: David Blackburn (L, 3-3)

Warriors at the Plate
- Adam Bland belted his second home run of the year with a two-run shot in the 3rd to tie the game (2-2)
- Ian Guthrie sent a solo shot out to left in the 7th (3-10)
- Zach Marriott grounded out to score Hogan Ralston in the 7th and cut BSC's lead to six (4-10)
 

Game 2 (W, 8-7 F/10)
Pitcher of Record: Ryan Torres (W, 3-2)

Bryson Bales struck out nine Panther hitters in 5.1 innings of work, surrendering three runs on just one hit.

Warriors at the Plate
- Drake Job opening the scoring with an RBI single to center field to score Marriott (1-0)
- Owen Shaw whacked a 2-RBI double into left field to score Marriott and Joseph Watts (3-0)
- Griffin Baird followed that up with a  2-RBI single to center field to score Shaw and Ralston (5-0)
- Bland flied out the left in the 6th to bring in Charlie Deaton (6-0)
- Bland singled to center to score Deaton in the 8th (7-3)
- Austin Rabago walked it off in extras after scoring from third base on a passed ball (8-7)

Pitcher of Record: Dylan Kalmus (L, 3-2)

- Adam Bland singled to right field in the 6th to score Joseph Watts (1-7)
