Conway, Ark. - When Hendrix needed it most, the Warriors' talisman stepped up. Madison Lampkin netted the go-ahead goal with less than ten minutes to play to give Hendrix the win on opening day versus the University of Dallas.

Both sides struggled to generate chances in the opening 45 minutes until Farrah Hopkins got on the end of a long ball from Brooke Woods to put home the game's opening goal.

Goalkeeper Kennedy Lewis stayed relatively clean in the first half, but was called into action about midway through the second half after a scramble in the 6-yard box. After Lewis made a wonderful point blank save, Dallas' Miriam Skinner was able to tuck in the rebound and level the game at 1-1.

Sofia Fennelly found herself in on goal after a blazing run down the left wing and came close to finding the go-ahead goal but was instead denied by an exceptional save from Dallas' Ella Charles.

Minutes later, Reese Roleson won back possession in Dallas' half and played a ball between the lines that allowed Camy McKenzie to run at the Crusaders' back line. McKenzie did well to spring Lampkin loose behind the back line and in on goal, and Lampkin did the rest, slotting a tidy right-footed finish under Charles the game's winning goal.
