Conway, Ark. - It took six matches, but Hendrix is finally off the mark with their first win in 2024 as they breezed through a comfortable 2-0 over the University of Dallas on Sunday afternoon at Warrior Soccer Field.
Jensen Pechar put the Warriors up 15 minutes in with a powerful header after getting on the end of a
Bryce Robinson cross.
Pechar's header was one of three shots that the Warriors put on goal in the first half. Meanwhile, the Warriors' midfield and backline never allowed Dallas to generate a chance on goal in the first half.
The Crusaders registered 8 shots in the second half, forcing
James Leone into action on three occasions. Leone's three saves helped preserve his first clean sheet of the season.
Joshua Montgomery gave the Warriors some insurance 13 minutes into the second half with his first career goal, a terrific right-footed finish into the bottom left corner.
As a team, Hendrix was efficient in front of goal as they placed 5 of 7 total shots on goal.
Hendrix (1-3-2) now has five consecutive games on the road. They will kick off their road trip next Saturday as they make the short drive up to Batesville for the return leg of their home-and-home with in-state foe Lyon College.
