Conway, Ark. - Hendrix shut out Ozarks 4-0 on Friday night at Warrior Soccer Field with second-half goals from
Grace Sandoval,
Ally Ross, and
Reese Roleson.
The first half ended scoreless with
Kennedy Lewis making a couple of fantastic saves to keep the two sides level heading into the halftime interval.
Roleson opened up the scoring with thirteen minutes gone in the second half. A
Brooke Woods' long ball was played into the box and eventually fell at the feet of Roleson, who tucked away a tidy finish for her first career-goal.
Ally Ross scored just a couple minutes later with a wonderful left-footed lofted shot from 30 yards out.
Grace Sandoval made it 3-0 on 80 minutes, then added her second seven minutes from time as she roofed a right-footed screamer over Ozarks' goalkeeper from 20 yards out.
As a team, Hendrix put 7 shots on goal out of 13 total. Lewis only recorded one save in the second half after being busy in goal in the opening 45.
The win improves Hendrix to 4-1-3 on the year. They will play a tune-up match versus Central Baptist on Tuesday before kicking off conference play next weekend on the road at Millsaps.
