Conway, Ark. - Hendrix was defeated 3-0 by Centre College on Sunday afternoon at Grove Gymnasium.
The Warriors found themselves down 20-16 late in the first set, but a three-point run helped spark a rally to keep the set competitive. They successfully fended off set point to even the score at 24-24, but ultimately dropped the set 26-24.
Hendrix opened the second set with a 9-4 run and led 12-8 before Centre won 11 of the next 13 points. The Colonels led by as many as 5 points following their comeback and eventually took the second set 25-21.
The away side took a commanding 11-5 lead in the third set and were able to keep the Warriors in the rear-view mirror as they coasted to a 25-18 win in the third and final set to clinch the match.
Riley Brady led the Warriors with 7 kills on 13 attacks (.462).
Perri Evans (.357) and
Catalina Williams (.385) each recorded 6 kills. Brady and
Camryn Kennedy each recorded 2 service aces.
Hendrix (6-9, 0-2 SAA) will host Sewanee tomorrow evening at Grove Gymnasium.
