Conway, Ark. - After taking a tough loss to Centre on Sunday afternoon, Hendrix bounced back to sweep Sewanee in 3 straight sets on Monday night at Grove Gymnasium.
Both teams fought for the first set, but Hendrix secured the win with a final score of 32-30.
Mary Addisyn Stubbs helped to advance the score from 5-6 to 12-6 with a 7-point serving run, including 2 aces.
Ana Bastos recorded a whopping 10 kills to kick-start the match. The second set concluded with a score of 25-22, with 4 kills each from
Riley Brady and
Catalina Williams. To bring home the win, Hendrix beat Sewanee in the third set 25-21.
The leading attackers of the match were Riley Brady with 13 kills and Bastos with 11 kills. Freshman Amelia Don scored 9 kills, while middle blocker Catalina Williams brought in in 5 kills.
Brady had an explosive performance. Along with her 13 kills, the sophomore recorded 7 digs, 3 aces, 3.5 blocks and 3 assists in just 3 sets, contributing a total of 19.5 points to the victory.
Stubbs recorded an impressive 23 digs as the libero.
The Warriors are now 1-2 in conference play and will travel to Memphis, Tennessee this Friday to face Rhodes College at 6 pm in Mallory Gymnasium.
