CONWAY - Hendrix traded blows with Millsaps for the first three quarters on Tuesday afternoon before the defending Southern Athletic Association champions pulled away in the fourth quarter.
Riley Brady, the reigning SAA Athlete of the Week, led the Warriors with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Hendrix trailed 38-30 at the break with 12 lead changes in the opening 20 minutes. The Warriors found themselves chasing the Majors for a majority of the third quarter, with
Megan Gray's triple with 0:09 remaining in the quarter cutting Millsaps' lead to 9 heading into the final quarter. After trailing 61-52 with 7:00 to play,
Bella Cates knocked down back-to-back 3's to pull Hendrix within a possession of the Majors.
From there, Millsaps went on a 17-3 run to close out the game.
Ava Knoedl finished with 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field with a couple of long balls. Gray tallied a career-high 10 points, shooting 3-of-7 from the field.
Hendrix (7-8, 0-2 SAA) will now hit the road for their first conference road trip of the season as they take on Centre and Sewanee this weekend.
