Conway, Ark. - Hendrix clinched another weekend sweep in the SCAC with a 3-0 win over Centenary on Saturday afternoon at Grove Gymnasium.
The Warriors jumped out of the gates and blitzed the Ladies in a 25-8 opening-set victory. Centenary doubled their point total in the second set and hung in with the hosts for the first half of the set before the Warriors eventually pulled away to take a two-set victory. It was a similar story in the third set as Centenary kept the deficit manageable, but a three-point swing late in the set gave Hendrix a 20-13 lead which proved too much for the visitors to overcome.
Ana Bastos led all participants with 10 kills.
Hailey Gripka followed up a six-block day yesterday with an astonishing 8 blocks over the three sets.
The Warriors hit 0.197 as a team and held Centenary to -0.062.
Chloe Staggs led Hendrix defensively with 15 digs.
The Warriors have now won four league matches in a row and are 9-1 in the SCAC. They remain in Conway to host one half of the SCAC crossover weekend next weekend at Grove Gymnasium.
