Shreveport, La. - Hendrix was back in the win column on Sunday afternoon with a 2-0 win over the Centenary Ladies
Goals from
Ella Kelly and
Sarah Jones sealed the three points for
Jeff Trimble's side, who entered the day ninth in the standings and ended it sitting sixth with nine points.
Hendrix struck first in the 30th minute when Kelly picked the ball up on the left wing and whipped in a ball to the front post, which was misplayed by the Centenary goalkeeper into her own net to give Kelly her first goal of the season.
The rest of the first half remained scoreless, but the Warriors added on to their lead in the 63rd minute. Centenary failed to clear their lines after a scramble in the box, with the ball finding
Sarah Jones 35 yards out from goal. Jones played the ball back into the box and found its way through several players from both teams. Centenary's goalkeeper was unsighted from the traffic, with Jones' ball bouncing its way into the far corner for her second goal in three matches.
The Warriors were able to see out the rest of the match unscathed, with
B Adams making three saves to keep a clean sheet.
The win improves Hendrix to 6-7-2 and 4-4-0 in the SCAC. The Warriors will remain in Conway to close out the 2025 league slate, beginning next weekend with a pair of home matches versus Austin College and LeTourneau.
