Batesville, Ark. - Hendrix dropped to 0-2 on the year with a 74-65 loss at Lyon on Wednesday night at Becknell Gymnasium.
The Warriors rode a strong first-half start to a 37-33 lead at halftime. Hendrix led by as many as 12 in the opening 20 minutes but saw their lead after the last media timeout as Lyon closed the half on a 7-0 scoring run.
The hosts tied the game at 39-39 at the 17:54 mark, then took the lead for good forty seconds later. Lyon consistently led by double-figures down the stretch and took a 14-point lead with 00:42 remaining in regulation. There would be no comeback bid for Hendrix, though
Anthony Boone's side was able to whittle the lead down to single-digits with under ten seconds remaining.
Joseph Dockett led the Warriors with 17 points, while
Holden Plant and
Kyle Roach each scored 11 points to join Dockett in double-figures.
Charles Hatchett finished with 8 points, 9 boards, and 4 blocks.
Hendrix was out-rebounded 51-30 on the boards and shot just 6-of-16 from the stripe. The Warriors also shot just 12.5% from behind the arc.
Hendrix drops to 0-2 on the season. They will return to Conway on Sunday to host Southwestern at 2:00 PM at Grove Gymnasium.
