Round Rock, Texas - Hendrix's 2025 campaign came to a close on Friday afternoon with a 2-0 loss to McMurry in the semifinals of the SCAC tournament.
The Warriors had won two matches on the bounce heading into Friday and advanced to the semifinal after an upset of 3-seed St. Thomas on Thursday, but the second-seeded WarHawks proved to be too much for
Jeff Trimble's side with a berth to the SCAC championship on the line.
The two sides went into halftime level, with McMurry out-shooting the Warriors 9-5. Hendrix was unable to threaten the Warhawks goal in the opening 45 minutes but limited McMurry's opportunities in front of goal in what was a fairly uneventful first half. The gates opened for McMurry in the second half, and their breakthrough came in the 67th minute when Laila Brown rounded
Kennedy Lewis on a one-on-one to slot it into an empty net. The Warhawks added onto their lead ten minutes later when Hailey Andrle found the top right corner, with her initial effort hitting both the crossbar and the sidebar before bouncing over the line to make it 2-0.
Hendrix was unable to match McMurry's offensive prowess in the second half and only managed three shots on frame over the 90 minutes.
Kennedy Lewis faced 10 shots on goal and made 8 saves on the day.
The Warriors end the season 7-9-4 and 4-4-2 in their first season back in the SCAC.
