Conway, Ark. - Hendrix closed out the regular season with a 68-53 win over Sewanee on Senior Day at Grove Gymnasium.
Ava Knoedl led all scorers with 22 points, with
Riley Brady recording a 21-10 double-double.
Hendrix trailed 17-16 heading into the second quarter after Knoedl knocked down a triple at the buzzer. The Warriors dominated the second period, opening on a 9-2 run and outscoring the Tigers 16-10 to take a 32-27 lead into the halftime intermission.
Wes Sullivan's squad kept up the pace in the second half, and after Sewanee made it a 34-31 game with 7:02 remaining in the third quarter, Hendrix went on a 13-3 run and took a 13-point lead into the final period. The Tigers were unable to threaten Hendrix's lead in the fourth quarter and never got the deficit back down to single-figures.
The Warriors shot just 31.8% from the field and 33.3% from behind the arc but got an astonishing 21 points from the stripe. They outscored Sewanee 26-18 in the paint and scored 17 second-chance points.
Hendrix (9-16, 2-10 SAA) now heads to Danville, Kentucky to take on Centre in the first round of the SAA Tournament, with the winner then heading to Millsaps for the SAA Tournament semifinals.
