Kalmus Shines in Win Over #18 Adrian

Marshall, Texas - Hendrix defeated #18 Adrian 3-1 on Saturday afternoon in a neutral site contest hosted by East Texas Baptist. It was the Warriors' second-consecutive top-25 win after they defeated #9 ETBU this Tuesday in Conway.

Dylan Kalmus got the start versus the Bulldogs and continued his hot start to 2025, spinning 7.0 shutout innings while surrendering just 5 base runners on 4 hits and 1 walk. The sophomore struck out 3 and put Adrian down in order in the 3 of his 7 innings on the mound. Kalmus turned the game over to Jackson Corrigan in the 8th inning, with the senior allowing just one run before retiring the side. Aiden Leggett entered in the 9th and worked around a one-out walk to hold Adrian scoreless and earn the save.

Hendrix was put down 1-2-3 in the 1st but were able to open the scoring in the top of the 2nd when Owen Shaw reached first on an error to lead off the inning. After Jacob Carpentier singled through the right side to put two on, Joseph Watts moved the runners over with a sacrifice bunt. Hogan Ralston then scored Shaw on an RBI groundout, and Carpentier was subsequently brought home after Austin Rabago forced another fielding error after putting the ball in play.

With one out in the 5th, Giancarlo Digiacomo drew a one-out walk, who then advanced to second after Zane Nolan grounded out to the second basemen. Drake Job then drove in Digiacomo with an RBI single to right center for the Warriors' third and final run of the game.

The win improves Hendrix to 6-3. They will wrap up their weekend in Marshall with a single game against ETBU on Sunday at Tiger Field.
