Searcy, Ark. - Hendrix's men's and women's track and field programs traveled east to compete in the Bryson Phillips Open hosted by Harding University.
On the women's side, in the field,
Ember Hughes finished second overall in the javelin with a throw of 34.70m. Her throw vaults her up to fourth overall in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA).
B Adams placed second overall in the discus with a throw of 36.76m, which now puts her at the top of the conference in discus. She also finished eighth overall in the shot put with a throw of 10.74m.
On the track,
Ella Williams won the women's 5000m with a time of 18:31.41, which ranks seventh in the SAA.
Anna Cantrell finished third overall in the women's 1500m run with a time of 4:51:56. She currently sits third in the conference in the 1500m and second in the conference in the 800m.
On the men's side, Tristan Johnson placed eighth overall in the shot put with a throw of 13.22m (fifth in SAA).
On the track,
Westin Bruce finished eighth in both the 100m (11.08) and the 200m (22.43). Both of those times rank third in the SAA in their respective events.
Owen Lien finished sixth in the 800m with a time of 1:59.66, which made him the first male to break the 2:00.00 mark in the men's 800m in 15 years.
