Conway, Ark. (July 1, 2025) - Hendrix College has rejoined the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) as a full-time member after formally accepting an invitation last summer.
Hendrix initially joined the conference in 1991 before leaving after the 2011-12 academic year to serve as a charter member of the Southern Athletic Association.
The addition will bring the conference to twelve full-time member institutions. Hendrix joins Austin College (Sherman, Texas), Centenary College (Shreveport, La.), Colorado College (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Concordia University Texas (Austin, Texas), the University of Dallas (Irving, Texas), LeTourneau University (Longview, Texas), McMurry University (Abilene, Texas), the University of the Ozarks (Clarksville, Ark.), Schreiner University (Kerrville, Texas), the University of St. Thomas (Houston, Texas), and Texas Lutheran University (Seguin, Texas). Lyon College (Batesville, Ark.) is an affiliate member of the conference for football.
The Warriors re-enter the SCAC as the league's most-tenured member, with all but two of the member institutions having joined in 2011 or beyond.
In 2025-26, Hendrix will host the SCAC's inaugural football championship weekend at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock and the league's men's and women's basketball tournaments at Grove Gymnasium. It will be the first year that Hendrix has hosted a conference basketball tournament since the 2009 SCAC basketball tournaments.
The SCAC sponsors championships in 18 sports – 9 for men and 9 for women. The conference has enjoyed national success, with SCAC members having collected 10 team national championships and 35 individual national championships since the conference's first playing season in 1962.
