Newberry Clinches 100th Win as Volleyball Sweeps Dallas

Conway, Ark. - Hendrix completed an undefeated weekend on Sunday with a 3-0 win over the University of Dallas and handed head coach Brittany Newberry her 100th win as head coach of the Warriors.

Dallas took an early 8-5 lead in the opening set after a sluggish start from Hendrix, but the Warriors responded with a 6-0 scoring run to mark the first and only lead change of the entire match. The Crusaders got within a point of the hosts with the score at 22-21 before kills from Camryn Kennedy and Riley Brady helped see off the opening set. Brady finished the match with a game-high 9 kills.

The Warriors started the second set with a 5-0 run and led by as many as 7 en route to a second-set victory. The third set began the same as the second, but Dallas was able to close the gap on an attack error from Hendrix to trim the deficit to four with the score at 14-10. From there, the Warriors got a boost from two Kennedy service aces and kills from Brady and Perri Evans to double up Dallas 20-10. The Crusaders went on a 4-0 run to inch back into the set, but a service ace from Emma Blancovich helped lift the Warriors over the edge, with Rachel Pearce's kill the final nail in the coffin.

Brady hit an astounding .500 on 18 total swings, while Evans finished with 8 kills. Kennedy led all participants with 5 service aces, and Adilynn Henry was superb with 18 assists. Carola Moreno finished with a game-high 9 digs; Brady and Mary Addisyn Stubbs each totaled 8.

The win improves Hendrix to 8-1 on the year with a 2-0 start to conference play. They will now hit the road for their first conference road trip of the season as they head down to Shreveport to take on Centenary before a date with LeTourneau the folliwng day.
