Sherman, Texas - Hendrix suffered an 82-52 loss to Austin College on Wednesday night at Hughey Gymnasium.
The game was originally scheduled for Friday night, but impending inclement weather forced the Warriors to move their road trip up and play on a short week.
Hendrix started the game behind the eight-ball and were unable to establish any foothold over the forty minutes. The 'Roos scored the game's first 13 points and never let the visitors get close on the night.
Jaxon Herrera stopped the bleeding right before the media timeout with a layup to put Hendrix on the board.
The score was 48-15 at the final media of the half, but the Warriors banged in three triples, including two from Herrera, before the horn sounded.
Kyle Roach began the second half with a triple to cut the lead to 22, but Austin College pushed back to push their lead to 30 and were able to maintain that margin for the rest of the contest.
Herrera led all scorers with 18 points, hitting on 4 of his 6 attempts from behind the arc. The Warriors shot a commendable 40.9% from deep and 35.2% from the field but gave way to an explosive 'Roo offense that registered 52 points in the paint and shot 52.3% from the field.
Hendrix (1-15, 1-6 SCAC) remains on the road to face the University of Dallas tomorrow in Irving for a 5:30 PM tip.
