WBB | Warriors Pick Up Road Win at Concordia

Austin, Texas - Hendrix improved to 3-0 in its first season back in the SCAC with a 67-51 win over Concordia Texas on Friday night at the Concordia Fieldhouse.

Chloey-Rei Brown continued her impressive form to start the year en route to an 18-point affair. The freshman has finished in double-figures in her last four outings and is averaging 15.8 points over that time.

Riley Brady made it 7 games out of 8 in which she's tallied a double-double. The junior posted 14 points and 17 boards and finished a perfect 8-of-8 from the line. Brailey Forst also went 100% at the stripe, going 6-for-6 while scoring 8 points and grabbing 9 rebounds.

Brady gave Hendrix the lead early in the contest and, after Concordia tied the game at 2-2, Bella Cates knocked her first of two threes to retake the lead for the visitors. Wes Sullivan's squad would hold onto that lead for the rest of the night. Hendrix led 21-8 after the first frame and pushed their lead all the way up to 17 with Brooklyn Rowe's layup with just under one minute remaining in the half.

Hendrix led by as many as 24 in the second half, but an 8-0 run from the hosts to start the fourth quarter gave Hendrix cause for concern. The Warriors never let their slip below double-figures though, and exceptional foul shooting down the stretch allowed Hendrix to coast to a 16-point victory.

Hendrix finished -5 in the turnover column but out-rebounded the Tornadoes 48-34 over the 40 minutes. The Warriors shot 35.8% from the field and hit 6 of their 19 shots from behind the arc. At the charity line, Hendrix had one of its better performances of the season, going 23-for-29 to finish just under 80%.

The win improves Hendrix to 7-4 and 3-0 in the SCAC. The Warriors now head to Seguin for a 6:00 tip-off tomorrow versus Texas Lutheran.
