SEGUIN, Texas - Hendrix lost to Texas Lutheran 3-0 on Friday night in Seguin, falling 18-25, 24-26, 16-25. The Warriors hit .055 with 34 kills and 26 errors, while Texas Lutheran finished at .184 and held a 12-3 edge in total blocks.
The Warriors' main push in the first set came after Texas Lutheran opened a 14-6 lead, with the Warriors cutting the deficit to 16-14 behind kills from
Alexis Mahan,
Camryn Kennedy,
Addison Rud and
Ana Bastos. Texas Lutheran answered later and closed out the set 25-18.
In the second set, the Warriors built a 24-15 lead behind a
Riley Brady ace and kills from Bastos and Kennedy. Texas Lutheran answered with 11 consecutive points to overtake the Warriors and take the set, 26-24.
The Warriors opened the third set with a 4-0 lead, getting kills from Rud and Bastos during the start. Texas Lutheran answered to tie it at 7-7 and later pulled away, while the Warriors added late kills from Brady, Rud and
Ava Burns before the set ended 25-16.
Bastos led the Warriors with 13 kills and 14.0 points, adding six digs and two block assists. Rud finished with 10 kills while hitting .346 and added one block assist.
Reghan Frazzetta recorded a team-high 18 assists with five digs.
Mary Addisyn Stubbs collected a team-high 15 digs and added two assists.
Up next, the Warriors will continue round out the weekend's crossover event with matches again the University of St. Thomas (TX) and Colorado College tomorrow afternoon.
