SHREVEPORT, La. - Hendrix's winless streak in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference continued on Friday night with a 1-1 draw with Centenary at Atkins Field.
Mary-Kate Honghiran's goal with under a minute remaining in the first half was canceled out by a Ladies' equalizer early in the second half.
Centenary outshot the Warriors 10-8 and forced
Kennedy Lewis into four saves on the night.
The first half looked to finish goalless until Honghiran got the Warriors on the board with seconds remaining. Hendrix hit Centenary in transition, and
Emily Hughes played a ball forward to Honghiran into the channel. Honghiran did well to flick the ball past the defender to put it on her left foot, and slotted in a wonderful finish from 18-yards out for her first goal of the season.
But Centenary would equalize in the 60th minute, and neither of the two sides could find a winner in the final half hour.
The draw takes Hendrix to 0-2-5 in the league. The Warriors are currently the first team out in the race for a top-6 finish, and will wrap up the regular season on Sunday at St. Thomas, where they will need a result against the Celts and results elsewhere to finish in the top 6 and qualify for the SCAC tournament.
