BATESVILLE, Ark. - Tripp Ortega's goal gave Hendrix a share of the spoils on Tuesday night as Hendrix drew 1-1 with Lyon College in the regular season opener.
The Warriors generated nine attacking actions in the early stages of the second half, including Ortega's goal, but failed to find a winner down the stretch.
The match included five bookings, with Hendrix accounting for three of those.
First Half
- The opening stretch stayed scoreless as the teams combined for six fouls in the first 13:34, while
Tripp Ortega put the Warriors' first shot on frame at 6:04.

Cameron Joniec kept the Scots off the board with a save on Matheus Nunes at 20:12, but Inaki Terra scored for the Scots at 24:43 to make it 1-0.
Second Half
- The Warriors opened the half with pressure, generating four shots and four corner kicks before the 56th minute, including saved attempts by
Ryan Carroll and
Ardon Mech.
- The Scots recorded a stretch of pressure from 70:44 to 75:56 with four shots and a corner kick, but the Warriors kept the match level.
- The Warriors pushed late with a corner kick and shots from Dodds and Ortega, but failed to convert on set piece opportunities.
- Ortega saw one final attempt go wide with under a minute to play after a superb bit of play down the wing from Ayden Turner.
Ortega led the Warriors with four shots and put two on goal. Joniec played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded two saves. Dodds added two shots and put one on frame off the bench.
The draw leaves Hendrix at 0-0-1 heading into the weekend. They will return to Conway to open their home slate on Sunday versus Rhodes for a 6:00 PM kick-off at Warrior Soccer Field.
