CONWAY - Hendrix suffered heartbreak on Sunday night in a five-goal thriller as Rhodes netted the winner with just thirteen seconds remaining in regulation.
After a scoreless first half that saw plenty of chances for both sides,
J.J. Goodsky-Evans converted from the spot to give Hendrix the go-ahead goal 12 minutes into the second half. Rhodes equalized in the 72nd minute off a set piece to go level.
Five minutes later, the hosts retook the lead as
Tripp Ortega was released on a long ball from Joan Jimenez and coolly slotted the ball into an empty net after rounding the goalkeeper on a 1-on-1 breakaway.
Rhodes returned fire five minutes later to level the score once again. The match looked certain to end in a draw, but the Lynx generated one last chance at the death and were able to find the winner 13 seconds from time.
The Lynx outshot Hendrix 27-7 and forced Cam Joniec into nine saves on the night. Ortega put a couple shots on frame, including his goal. Jimenez picked up his first point of the season with the assist on Ortega's goal.
The Warriors (0-1-1) remain home to host Ouachita Baptist on Wednesday at Warrior Soccer Field.
