Junior Sydnee Davis of Spring, Texas annihilated the women's hammer throw record by nearly nine feet, finishing sixth at 44.23 meters (145 ft.-.1.5 in.) at the UCA Open on Saturday. Davis now has the third best hammer throw in the Southern Athletic Association. Davis also placed 10th in the shot put with a throw of 10.18 meters (33 ft.-4.75 in.).
