Freshman Sam Melhorn broke a school record and recorded two first place finishes in a duel at Principia College Friday night. He won the 100 meter individual medley in a school record 55.02 seconds, besting his previous record by .37 seconds. He also won the 500 freestyle in 5:13.53. in Saturday's Panther Invite, the Knoxville, Tenn. native finished third in the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:00.87. Melhorn was also fourth in the 200 breaststroke in 2:15.10 and was part of the third place 200 medley relay team.
