BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Hendrix College women's soccer team suffered a 6-0 defeat at Birmingham-Southern College in Southern Athletic Association action on Saturday afternoon.
The host Panthers (7-5-1, 3-1) picked up two goals in the first half, then added four more in the second. Amanda Babbin led BSC with two goals and an assist. Jamie Sullivan and Heather Sullivan also recorded a goal and an assist each. Devon Weldon and Sammy Manzo both netted goals as well.
The Panthers outshot the Warriors (4-7-1, 0-3-1) 18-10 and had a 7-5 on goal advantage.
Senior Ana Contreras, sophomores Arianna Hart and Laurie Waters and freshman Samantha Lallas and Summerlin Criswell each took a shot on goal for Hendrix.
Richelle Byrd recorded four saves in 74 minutes and Katie Williams had one save in 16 for BSC. Freshman Rachel Zweig had one save in 70 minutes for Hendrix.
Hendrix will travel to Searcy, Ark. on Tuesday for a match with NCAA Division II foe Harding University.
