CONWAY, Ark. – In their final home match of the season, the Hendrix College volleyball team swept Rhodes College 25-23, 25-23, 25-18 in Southern Athletic Association Action on Wednesday night. The Warriors (12-14, 5-7) sit in fifth place in the league with two matches to play. The Lynx fall to 4-22 overall and 1-11 in the SAA.

After struggling in the first set, Hendrix hit .353 with 15 kills, 10 of which came in from senior middle blocker Melissa Clement, in the second frame. The Warriors connected on 15 kills and hit .355 in the final game.

For the match, Hendrix hit .236 with 39 kills, eight aces, 59 digs and one block. Rhodes hit .174 with 36 kills, one ace, 49 digs and 6.5 blocks.

Clement led the way with 13 kills and senior outside hitter Kirsten Finch had nine. Sophomore middle blocker Carson Hunter hit .462 with seven kills. Freshman setter Breanna Wright recorded her third double-double of the season with 34 assists and 10 digs. Junior Katie Burchfield led all players with 15 digs and freshman Felicia Beeman had 11. Sophomore defensive specialist Jasmine Johnson served up a career-high six aces to go with eight assists.

Meagan Mansfield led the Lynx with 13 kills and 10 digs.

Hendrix will play their final two conference matches of the year on the road this weekend when they face Centre College in Danville, Ky. on Saturday and Sewanee – The University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn. on Sunday.
