CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's soccer team suffered a 3-2 loss to NCAA Division II member Ouachita Baptist at Warrior Field on Tuesday night. The visiting Tigers (5-6) overcame a 2-1 deficit and scored the game winner with 8:04 left in the game.
The Warriors (7-3-1) opened the scoring in the 17th minute when senior midfielder Tresor Mukiza found net for the second time this season after a pass from freshman midfielder Jacob Pierce. OBU tied it in the 25th minute on an AJ Bauckman goal.
In the second half, freshman forward Will Dunaway gave Hendrix a 2-1 lead after putting in the rebound of a penalty kick of his own penalty kick for his third goal of the year.
Buackman assisted a JT Goodrum goal in the 71st minute to tie the game at 2-2, then Goodrum scored again in the 82nd minute to give the Tigers the victory.
For the game, Hendrix outshot OBU 17-15 and the teams were even with eight shots on goal each.
Tiger keeper Wayne Smith recorded six saves. Sophomore Eric Bracy, making his Warrior debut, recorded came up with five saves.
Hendrix will return to Southern Athletic Association play on Friday at Oglethorpe in Atlanta, Ga.
