ATLANTA – The Hendrix College women 's soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss at Oglethorpe University in Southern Athletic Association action on Friday afternoon.
The host Lady Petrels (4-5, 1-1) struck in the 20th minute when Laura Betancourt scored on a pass from Katie Geiger. Emily Silva and Kendall Burke added goals in the 28th and 38th minutes, respectively, to give OU a 3-0 lead at half.
Warrior (4-6, 0-2) senior forward Rebecca Rahn scored her sixth goal of the year and 20th of her career on a free kick in the 62nd minute.
For the match, OU outshot Hendrix 16-13 and 9-4 in shots on goal.
Rahn, from Little Rock, Ark., took seven shots, two of which were on goal. Sophomore defender Kacey Hight also had two shots on goal for the Warriors.
Freshman keeper Rachel Zweig stopped six shots for Hendrix, while Bailey Evans had three saves for Oglethorpe.
Hendrix will travel to Mount Berry, Ga. on Sunday for a SAA game against Berry College.
