MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Hendrix College volleyball team's season came to end with a 25-21, 25-17, 25-22 loss to Centre College in the first round of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament on Friday afternoon. The sixth-seeded Warriors finish the season with a 13-18 record, while the #3 Colonels move on at 15-15.
 
For the match, Hendrix hit .112 with 30 kills, three aces, 51 digs and six blocks. Centre hit .198 with 34 kills, five aces, 43 digs and nine blocks.
 
Junior outside hitter Katie Burchfield paced the Warrior offense with 12 kills and hit .478. She also recorded 10 digs for her ninth double-double of the year. Senior middle blocker Melissa Clement hadded 10 kills and hit .381. The Rogers, Ark. native ends her career as Hendrix' all-time leader with 1,307 kills and 344 total blocks. Freshman libero Jill Sikes had 13 digs and two aces and sophomore middle blocker Carson Hunter recorded three blocks, two of which were solo.
 
Suzanne Asbury and Catherine Janszen led the Colonels with eight kills each. Jeanna Foushee had 13 digs.
 
The match was the final in the careers for four Hendrix seniors – Clement, Katie Bates, Kristen Finch and Allison Helm.
