SHREVEPORT, La. – The Hendrix College women's soccer team lost 2-1 at Centenary College at Mayo Field on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Warriors fall to 4-4, while the Ladies improve to 3-3-1.
Centenary's Madison Alexander scored in the 27th minute after a punt from keeper Brittany Dunn to give the Ladies a 1-0 lead. Hendrix tied the game in the 36th minute when senior forward Mel Roach scored her team-leading ninth goal with an assist from senior Rebecca Rahn, her eighth of the season, on a corner kick.
Alexander scored the game-winner in the 64th minute with an assist from Allie Cortes.
For the game, the Ladies outshot the Warriors 13-6 and had a 7-2 shots on goal advantage.
Freshman goalkeeper Rachel Zweig made five saves for Hendrix, while Dunn had one for Centenary.
The Warriors will start Southern Athletic Association play on Saturday when they travel to Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss.
