JACKSON, Miss. – The Hendrix College women's soccer team lost 2-1 to Millsaps College in their Southern Athletic Association opener in soggy conditions on Saturday. With the loss, the Warriors fall to 4-5 overall, while the Majors improve to 5-4.

Taylor Winslow scored in the 18th minute off a deflection to give the Majors a 1-0 lead. Hendrix senior forward Mel Roach tied it up on a breakaway in the 29th minute for her team-leading 10th of goal of the year.

Margaret Eggers netted the game-winner in the 39th minute on a cross from Madeline Hendrix.

The Majors outshot the Warriors 14-7 overall and 8-3 in shots on goal.

Roach took two shots on goal for Hendrix and senior midfielder Rebecca Rahn took one.

In goal, freshman Rachel Zweig recorded five saves for Hendrix and Elise Davis had two for Millsaps.

Hendrix will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Atlanta, Ga. for league game at Oglethorpe.
