JACKSON, Miss. – The Hendrix College men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Millsaps College in their first ever Southern Athletic Association match on a rainy Saturday night. With the win, the Majors improved to 3-5-1, while the Warriors fall to 7-2-1.

Taylor Harrison opened the scoring in the 36th minute on passes from Chucky Hayden and Hunter Creech. Harrison assisted Lukas Elmhammer's goal in the 63rd minute to give the Majors the 2-0 victory.

The game was closely contested, with Millsaps taking 14 shots to Hendrix 12, but both teams each took three shots on goal. Hendrix had more opportunities with a 9-3 corner kick advantage.

Senior forward Connor Silvestri took two shots on goal for Hendrix and freshman forward Steven Cochrun had one.

In goal, freshman Marco Luna had one save for the Warriors, while Stephen Andrieu had two for the Majors.

Hendrix will return home to face NCAA Division II opponent Ouachita Baptist on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
